Most music fans fail to realize that a great deal of their enjoyment from music comes from the work of people who aren't always acknowledged- the sound engineers who help record and finish the albums we all love. A sound engineer can make or break a good album, and while there are some superstar engineers out there like Andy Sneap or Dan Swano, there are a lot of others whose name you may never know. One of these people is Maor Appelbaum, a mastering engineer who, originally from Israel, now lives in LA and has probably already worked on an album you like, or maybe he's working right now on your future favourite album.
